To celebrate 10 years in business, Marla Communications want to give something back to the business community, with a prize-fund of €2,500 to be given away!
At DessertFirst our aim is to provide great tasting, delicious tarts and cakes ‘ just like Granny used to make’ – so you can have the tradition without the time and effort. We use traditional recipes and quality ingredients – you won’t see a long list of unrecognisable additives on our labels. We use real Irish butter and fresh eggs in all our baking for a far superior flavour.
As the all-Ireland semi-final approached between Kilkenny and Waterford, we brain stormed ideas on how DessertFirst could use the upcoming match as an opportunity to increase sales and create awareness for our online shop and bespoke range of delicious baked foods. After much discussion, we decided to make cupcakes which featured each teams crest. The cupcakes were available to order on line and were also available through local stockist. We promoted the range on Facebook through targeted ads and the boosting of images – the response was unbelievable! We received numerous orders and we were often asked to for a mixed box containing both Waterford and Kilkenny cupcakes, as family members were supporting different teams within the one household. We believe this was a very cost effective, creative marketing campaign – we used our core skills to capitalise on a an upcoming event.
